I am glad you are considering therapy. The decision to enter into therapy is significant and I consider it an honor to walk with you in this time. It is a joy for me to serve my clients and I am eager to see you set and accomplish your goals and begin to enjoy a healthier and happier life.

I look forward to seeing you at your first session. Here is how to begin therapy in three easy steps:

Step 1: Set an appointment

Setting an appointment is easy. Call me at 615.966.6651 or email me at chris@drchrisgonzalez.com. We can set a time and date for the first session and I will address any questions you have in that first call or email.

Step 2: Fill out paperwork at home

There are three forms to fill out and bring to the first session.

1) Consent Form & Confidentiality. This form describes what a therapy relationship is and what you can expect as a client including the parameters of confidentiality and the voluntary nature of the therapy relationship. In short, the consent form answers the question, "What am I getting myself into?" (Initial and sign this form in the appropriate places and bring it with you)

2) Statement of Understanding using Google Meet for Telehealth. This form explains how I keep your information confidential using Google Meet as an online means of therapy. A therapy relationship is based on trust. In short, the Statement of Understanding form answers the question, "How will my private information be kept private with online therapy?”

3) Client Intake. This form is your opportunity to provide as much information as you can about why you are seeking therapy. (Fill this out and bring it with you)

Step 3: Come to the first session

Each therapy session lasts about one hour. The first session entails collecting paperwork (finishing any paperwork if necessary) and then exploring the reason for coming to therapy and possible desired outcomes for therapy. If more than one session is desired, then we will schedule the next session at the end of each session. Payment for services happens at the end of the session.

Again, I consider it a privilege to walk with my clients through healing, growth, and making important life decisions. I look forward to working with you.
